FAQ and Important Info

How Do I Place An Order?

Since I need your flowers to create your Keepsake Jewelry, it's best to contact me directly with questions, special requests, and to make arrangements on getting flowers from you.  If you are local (Greater Cincinnati Area), I'm available for consultation.  If not, you can mail me your flowers and I will contact you regarding your order and design options. If you would like to book a consultation or have questions, go to "Contact" menu to send message.

Fresh or already dried flowers?

It's best if I receive your flowers fresh and before they begin to brown.  I have a special way of drying them to preserve vibrant color.  However, if your flowers are already dry (maybe a 20 year old bridal bouquet), that works too!  I only use the petals so I only need the flower heads from you.  Depending on the type of flower(s) and how large your order, it makes a difference on how many flowers are required.  Since I only use the petals, the more dense the flower, the less I need.  For example, a rose is a dense flower with many petals, so I wouldn't need as many (as compared to daisy). A variety of flowers with many different colors work best and give the most options for design.

How do I get the flowers to you?

You can contact me to arrange for a consultation, or mail the flowers to me.  To ship them, wrap them in a paper towel and put in an envelope (11.5x9.5" is as big as you need to go), or box.  NO plastic bags or anything airtight (this causes trapped moisture and molding).  Don't worry about smashing them, I end up crushing them anyway.  Please be sure to include your name, phone number, and email address.  Shortly upon receiving your flowers I will contact you to discuss your order.

Special Note:

Please understand that each and every piece of jewelry I make is handmade...like tiny pieces of art.  Therefore, imperfections and inconsistencies are inevitable.  This adds to it's unique one-of-a-kind quality.  Pictures shown on this site or that I send to you of your own order (through email or mobile) will not always represent the true color of the piece.  And your Keepsake jewelry will definitely not look exactly the same as the samples shown.   Even the same type of flower can vary in outcome color depending on when and where flower was clipped.

Tips for caring for your Keepsake jewelry

To ensure the longevity of your bead you should avoid exposing it to water.  NEVER submerse the bead into water (swimming, shower, bathing, washing hands).  Make sure to immediately dry the bead completely if it happens to get wet.  If your bead becomes dull with wear, put it on a q-tip and apply a coat of clear nail polish and let dry.  This will easily shine it up and keep your delicate flowers protected.

FYI

Most jewelry parts are either stainless steel, or sterling silver plated unless notes otherwise in description.  Please be aware of allergies you may have to any material used in making your keepsake jewelry item.
